Uncovered

Victoria, British Columbia Uncovered

Victoria has repeatedly been recognized in numerous “top places to visit” guides, and there’s no shortage of reasons why. The capital city of British Columbia, located on the beautiful southern tip of Vancouver Island, boasts stunning ocean views, meticulously kept gardens, and a rich colonial and Indigenous history. Known for having one of the mildest climates in Canada, Victoria offers a welcome reprieve with less snow and lush, year-round greenery.

You might also know Victoria for its charming, walkable Inner Harbour, thriving afternoon tea culture, world-class breweries, and its proximity to incredible wildlife viewing. The most popular time to visit is in the springtime when the famous cherry blossoms are in bloom, and in the summer when patios are busy, whale-watching tours are hopping, and the days are long. Don’t skip out of an opportunity to visit during the Fall or Winter, either. All of this makes the city a great starting point for your Vancouver Island road trip!

Cathy Miller
“Our experience was perfect with Karma for a trip to camp north of Whistler and around Vancouver Island! I was a little nervous about driving a bigger vehicle but it was very easy! The self check in/out was a breeze and the emails, video, and info in the van were very thorough. The bed is so comfortable and the van really has everything you need! We added a solar shower and hammock on and those were great. The Provincial parks in Canada are lovely if you are looking for designated camping spots. I am already looking forward to booking a trip to Alberta with Karma!”

“I hired a Karma van from Vancouver in early May and drove up through Squamish, Whistler, Nelson, Fernie, Banff and Jasper. Pick up and drop off was very straight forward and the team were easy to communicate with via email. The van was fully stocked with everything you need including towels, plates and a gas cooker. I recommend adding a fridge as an addition. The van was very comfortable and there is a heater but I also had a sleeping bag under the blanket to keep me warm when temperatures dropped to the negatives overnight. I would recommend renting through Karma.”

“We’ve had such a great experience with Karma Campervans! We picked up the van in Calgary and dropped it off in Vancouver. The customer service is really good: they answer calls, texts or emails super quickly and are always happy to help.”
